Green T.O.O.L. trening – izvješće

EU LOGO

Uniting European youth through learning, sharing experiences and ideas for new projects and collaboration, outreaching to the local community (with an exhibition and a play), the visit to the local public service company and the landfill as well as introduction to the operation of an energy utility service and solar panels … all this and much more are the results of the training “Green thinking on opportunities linking – Green T.O.O.L.”. The training was organized by Association Žmergo and their EU partners and funded by the European Union, through Youth in Action Programme. It was held from 24th to 31st August in Crikvenica and gathered 20 young people from France, Malta, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.
The participants explored the field of sustainability with different methods – creative workshops, group and individual work, discussions and lectures. During the training, participants were motivated to actively engage themselves in the issues of sustainability and its application in the areas of creativity, entrepreneurship and youth unemployment. Implemented activities have contributed to the acquisition of permanent and useful knowledge and skills. Creative handwork, eco exhibition and eco play for the local community and one hundred children –guests of the Stoimen hostel, united the participants and disseminated the ideas of the training.
During the training the participants were introduced to the Youth in Action Programme, its characteristics, benefits and actions. At the end of the training, each participant received a Youthpass certificate which recognizes and values the achievements in the process of non-formal learning.
“Driving force of the youth based on sustainability principles represents a potential for a more quality coexistence and a happier future. Active participation in the transfer of knowledge and experiences, learning form each other, and the desire for the creation of a sustainable community made this training extremely interesting and dynamic. Cultural and personal differences were not an obstacle to the creation of new friendships and relationships, established through joined work on ideas for a greener tomorrow. These friendships and relationships will become a long-term tool for the creation of beneficial effects in the community, at the local, as well as international level,” said one of the trainers, Ms. Helena Traub.
