The curative pedagogical institution for educational help is located in the city of Aschaffenburg (70.000 inhabitants). Their residents are children and adolescents, 3 to 18 years old, who, for different reasons, can’t live temporarily or permanently with their families. In total, 51 children and adolescents are divided into 6 different groups. Each group lives together with their carers in a cosy “family” home. Their responsibilities are organizing and assisting in the daily routine, the pedagogical care and the support of the personal and social development of the children and adolescents. They work closely together with parents, the youth welfare office, schools and external specialists.
ROLE OF THE VOLUNTEER:
Volunteer needs to:
- be open for a new experience
- be interested in working with children and adolescents
- have at least some basic knowledge of the German language
- be curious about Germany and its culture
- bring in your own ideas into the project
- create, plan and execute your own project
The volunteer will share a flat with another volunteer close to the centre of Aschaffenburg. Volunteer will have get his/her own room with shared bathroom and kitchen. The flat is fitted with a washing machine. Internet access is available. All the costs related to the accommodation is paid by the hosting organisation. A monthly food allowance of 229.00 € is paid by the hosting organisation.
